The Hinyard-Lash Experience: Starring Leslie, Jeff, Esme, Brynn, Han, and other members of the Hinyard-Lash family

May went by in a blur (as it often does). The end of school and the start of summer break are always a crazy, stressful, super-fun time of year. Brynn’s class hatched some chicks and then built an indoor playscape for them. Brynn was incredibly excited about the baby chicks. At the end of the year, the chicks went to live on a farm (a real farm, not a “farm”), but there is the promise of new chicks next year that the school might decide to keep. Ambrose is just the type of place where the teachers think that building a chicken coop and raising chickens is a great learning experience and are always up for something new.

The kids have been enjoying spending time outside and enjoying playing with the neighbors. Esme wrapped up her last gymnastics class of the year and has started swim team (though I don’t think we have swimming pictures yet). Even though gymnastics class is over for the season, gymnastics time never seems to end at the Hinyard-Lash household. All 3 kids prefer time upside down to time right side up.

For those of you who do not know, we got to make yet another trip to the emergency room to have Han’s head stitched up (the last time they used glue). For those of you that are counting, that is 3 ER trips in less than 5 months. Leslie has decided that if Han hits his head again she is buying him a helmet.

The month of May also brought the end of Daisy Girl Scouts. Esme went to the bridging ceremony and will be a Brownie next year.

Esme’s May wrapped up with a Cardinals game (she and Jeff had a daddy-daughter date) and a really great roller skating party for her friend, Cizayiah.

Jeff took all of the kids to Six Flags while Leslie had a spa day with her friend (and Han’s favorite person in the world), Abbie. Leslie came home relaxed, the kids came home exhausted, and Jeff came home mentally intact.

Enjoy all of the pictures!
