Esme’s 5th Birthday Party: August 2013
It’s hard to believe it’s been 5 years. Without going into sappy details about the last 5 years, let’s just say it’s been great and we can’t believe how fast it’s gone. As a sign of how “grown up” Esme is, here is the invite we put together:
Come celebrate with us as Esme turns five!
By her request, this will be a “Hello Kitty Backyard Water Park Food Fight” party. To explain:
- Hello Kitty: That’s the theme
- Backyard Water Park: Weather permitting, we’ll set up the Hinyard-Lash Water Park — kiddie pools, splash mats, sprinklers, plus Slip-n-Slide (especially for adults) so bring suits and towels.
- Food Fight: In a rare moment of weakness, we also somehow agreed to let her have a food fight in the backyard. We haven’t planned this out yet — we’re thinking probably whipped cream and pudding. Regardless, bring a change of clothes for the kids or be prepared to hose them off.
Well, the party went off without a hitch, and the food fight especially was interesting. Kudos to Leslie for her preparation of pudding and marshmallows and fantastic directions, as seen in this video of (most of) the food fight:
