August 2011 stats
So we’re hitting the point where 2 kids doesn’t necessarily mean doing everything twice. On Monday we were able to take them both in for their regular checkups at the same time — Esme for her 3-year, Brynn for her 6 month. Yes, amazing that it’s been 3 years and 6 months already.
Let’s start with Brynn, since size and growth seems to be much more interesting the younger the kiddo is. Here’s her growth history, and where she stands (well, sits) today.
- Birth; Tuesday, February 22, 2011: 7lbs, 15oz. 20″
- Hospital discharge; Saturday, February 26, 2011: 7lbs, 10oz. (it’s normal for babies to lose some weight in their first few days)
- One week checkup; Friday, March 4, 2011: 8lbs, 8oz. and 21″ on what was scheduled to be her official due date
- One month checkup; Thursday, March 24, 2011: 11lbs, 8oz. and 21.5″
- Two month checkup; Tuesday, April 26, 2011: 14lbs, 2 oz; 23.5″
- Four month checkup; Sunday, June 24, 2011: 17lbs, 11oz.; 25″
- Six month checkup: Monday, August 22, 2011: 19lbs, 11oz [forgot to write down her height]
So she’s still a big girl. Not quite as big, comparatively, percentile-wise, but still big.
As for Esme…
- Birth; Saturday, August 2, 2008: 7lbs, 14oz.; 20″
- Hospital discharge; Tuesday, August 5, 2008: 7lbs, 7oz. (it’s normal for babies to lose some weight in their first few days)
- One week checkup; Monday, August 11, 2008: 8lbs, 9oz.
- One month checkup; Friday, September 5, 2008: 11lbs even; 21.75″
- Two month checkup; Tuesday, October 7, 2008: 13lbs, 1oz.; 23″
- Four month checkup; Tuesday, December 2, 2008: 15lbs, 7oz; 24.75″
- Six month checkup; Wednesday, February 4, 2009: 17lbs, 9oz; 26.25″
- Nine month checkup; Monday, May 4, 2009: 19lbs, 2oz; ~28″ (she was squirming too much to tell)
- One year checkup; Friday, August 14, 2009; 21lbs; 29″
- Two year checkup; Monday, August 9, 2010; 24.75 lbs; 33.75″ (between the 25th and 50th percentile on both)
- Three year checkup; Monday, August 22, 2011: Esme 30lbs; 36″
We know this is normal, but it’s hard to believe that she’s 4x her birth weight yet not even twice as long. In true Lash genetic fashion, she has slipped down to somewhere below the 50th percentile in height. Oh, well, maybe there’s hope that Brynn gets the tall Hinyard genes.
