Halloweening 2010
Halloween was especially fun around the Hinyard-Lash household this year. As many of you are aware, Esme LOVES pirates due to the presence of the Pirate Piggies on Dora the Explorer. So when asked what she wanted to be for Halloween, we were not too surprised when pirate was the answer. Esme has been fortunate enough to get to attend several costume parties leading up to Halloween, so she had plenty of experience practicing her pirate act prior to the big event. The day before Halloween we went to Boo at the Zoo with Esme’s friend, Bella, and her mom (Leslie’s friend), Kristen. We managed to make it through the humongous trick-or-treat line at which point Esme passed out in her stroller. We missed most of the events, but everyone seemed to have a good time anyway. On Halloween we joined our next door neighbors and their two daughters, Meredith and Allison, for an early trick-or-treating adventure. The girls had a GREAT time and came home with enough candy to last for the next year even though we only went to 7 houses on our street. Overall, it was an exceptional evening followed by a very difficult morning in which Esme insisted that she needed candy for breakfast and then through several fits when Mommy and Daddy said no candy until after lunch. Apparently this was a common event throughout toddler households everywhere.
