One year checkup
It’s time for another exciting episode of “how big is Esme?” She went in for her one-year checkup on Friday, and except for the standard stuff (a few shots and a blood draw that may have been more traumatic for Mom than for Esme) it was pretty uneventful. She’s right in the 50% range for height and weight, and developing / progressing well. Mom and Dad are very proud (and feel blessed and lucky) only have had to have 1 unscheduled office visit in Esme’s first year, and to only have had to make 1 other phone call to the doctor’s exchange. Both incidents were nothing more than the typical parental worrying, which is good to keep us on our toes. And now, on to the stats…
- Birth; Saturday, August 2, 2008: 7lbs, 14oz.; 20″
- Hospital discharge; Tuesday, August 5, 2008: 7lbs, 7oz. (it’s normal for babies to lose some weight in their first few days)
- One week checkup; Monday, August 11, 2008: 8lbs, 9oz.
- One month checkup; Friday, September 5, 2008: 11lbs even; 21.75″
- Two month checkup; Tuesday, October 7, 2008: 13lbs, 1oz.; 23″
- Four month checkup; Tuesday, December 2, 2008: 15lbs, 7oz; 24.75″
- Six month checkup; Wednesday, February4, 2009: 17lbs, 9oz; 26.25″
- Nine month checkup; Monday, May 4, 2009: 19lbs, 2oz; ~28″ (she was squirming too much to tell)
- One year checkup; Friday, August 14, 2009; 21lbs; 29″
