Blackberries
Esme is a huge fan of fruit. She loves bananas, grapes, cherries, honeydew, cantaloupe, and watermelon. However, she clearly favors berries. Some days it’s blueberries, some days it’s strawberries, but either way she can take down a ridiculous amount of berries. A few weeks ago she tried blackberries for the first time, and while she liked them, it seemed as though she was a bit confused by the texture and seeds. Well, today we were at the Farmer’s Market and picked up an especially juicy pint of blackberries, intending them to last her a good part of the week. She finished off about half while we relaxed on the grass at the market with Andrew, Sara, and Reis, and had a bunch tonight for dinner. We’re glad she likes them, though we’ll probably try to restrict her intake a bit, just given the huge mess that they seem to make. All berries are messy, though blackberries clearly take the cake, as you can see in the picture and video below…

All she needs as a skull cap on her head (yarmalka) and we can pass her off as the world’s youngest Rabbi! The sounds that come from her mouth sounds about as interesting as when a Rabbi expounds about virtue and religion. When she gets to Hilton Head one day we will propose her to do the Torah readings. We have a new temple – therefore she would fit in just right as the youngest Rabbi. No matter what Esme does she is still a cute and adorable baby.
