Memorial Day weekend: part 3
It’s been a fun, tiring, relaxing, long, short, crazy weather weekend. St. Louis normally has strange weather, though this Memorial Day was something else. It changed from beautiful and sunny to torrential thunderstorms and back about a half dozen times, often in the span of a half hour. Luckily, it didn’t throw off our plans too much. We took advantage of the Memorial Day sales and stimulated the economy in our own way. Most exciting, though, was that we capped off the long weekend with Byron’s birthday party.
Andrew and Sara hosted, and Andrew outdid himself with homemade Juicy Lucy burgers (actually, Jucy Lucy appears to be the correct spelling) and Junior’s Cheesecake, flown in especially for the occasion. In typical fashion, we had way too much food, though a good time was had by all. Jeff was able to sneak a tiny morsel of cheesecake into Esme’s mouth when Leslie wasn’t looking — she seemed to enjoy it and it didn’t seem to give her too much of a sugar rush.
Pictures are below and in our SmugMug gallery. Again, we’re trying something new with the pictures, so if you’re reading this in your email or RSS reader, you may want to visit this post on the web site itself for the full experience.
