9 months already!
We celebrated Esme’s 9-month birthday on Saturday in a rather uneventful way, though that’s likely because we were still getting settled in the new house. (Pictures are coming soon, by the way, we promise.) Esme has been crawling up a storm, scooting across the big carpeted rooms and learning new tricks like how to open the cabinets in the kitchen.
Today was her 9 month checkup. We are very blessed and lucky that we’ve only had 1 unscheduled visit and 2 calls to the pediatrician in all this time. She’s probably going to pay us back during her teenage years, though.
Anyway, to recap from last time:
- Birth; Saturday, August 2, 2008: 7lbs, 14oz.; 20″
- Hospital discharge; Tuesday, August 5, 2008: 7lbs, 7oz. (it’s normal for babies to lose some weight in their first few days)
- One week checkup; Monday, August 11, 2008: 8lbs, 9oz.
- One month checkup; Friday, September 5, 2008: 11lbs even; 21.75″
- Two month checkup; Tuesday, October 7, 2008: 13lbs, 1oz.; 23″
- Four month checkup; Tuesday, December 2, 2008: 15lbs, 7oz; 24.75″
- Six month checkup; Wednesday, February4, 2009: 17lbs, 9oz; 26.25″
- Nine month checkup; Monday, May 4, 2009: 19lbs, 2oz; ~28″ (she was squirming too much to tell)
We’ve been so busy we haven’t had a chance to take an “official” 9 month picture. We’ll add it to the list…

ON THE HOUSE – Although obviously the rooms are basically some furniture and lots of boxes – you can tell that it is a very comfortably sized place. The colors in the rooms seem pretty exciting – I don’t know what it is you are going to repaint? There are other nice things we noticed in the house and the big patio in the back, and the very impressive entry. You really lucked out and moved into a house which should last you’all for many, many healthy years ahead. From the size of the house it looks that it will be a building in progress for quite a long time. We’ll be patient to keep up with pictures of your progress. Again, the best of luck and wish you many, many years of good health and happiness.
