Going to the zoo
The weather was beautiful on Saturday and we took the opportunity to explore the wonders of the amazing (and free!) St. Louis Zoo. Of course, we realized that the Zoo closes at 5pm (until Memorial Day, at least), so when we met up with Jeff’s college roommate Tim and his family at 4pm, we didn’t have too much time to explore. We still had a nice time with Tim, Aubrey, and their 3 boys. After a quick trip through the Penguin and Puffin habitat, and a brisk tour of some of the bears and orangutans, we headed out for a walk in Forest Park, enjoying the afternoon sun by the recently remodeled area in front of the World’s Fair Pavilion. Esme had some dinner, the boys ran off some energy in the grass, and we had a great time welcoming spring.
We’ve got some pictures of the afternoon, if you’re interested — including a great one of Eli, who — at not even 4 months — weighs more than Esme does at nearly 8 months. And we thought Esme was a big baby!
