After a few false starts before Christmas, Esme has finally decided she likes solid foods.  We are slowly adding new foods each week and, so far, she seems to like everything we have given her.  Leslie has been making all the baby food and is proud that her ability to boil and puree is not going unappreciated.  To date Esme has enjoyed oat cereal, applesauce, bananas, peas, and carrots. 

Eating is messy business when you are a baby so we initally used a bib.  We have since discovered that the bib actually created a larger mess than just feeding her without it, so we have ditched the bib until she decides that it isn’t a fun toy to chew on instead of eating her real food.  In true parental fashion we have taken both still pictures and video (see below) so everyone can enjoy the adorableness that is Esme’s feeding time.

    I see a buffet in Vegas in Esme’s future. Steer clear of old Vegas kid.

    Sorry Jeff. Parker taught her some of these tricks. Soon it will be keeping a mouth full of food and spitting it out right on you. So keep the bib close, you will be the one needing it.
