Esme rocks the vote
The day we came home from the hospital with Esme was primary day back in August. Though Esme didn’t go out to the polls that day, it’s only fitting that she came along with us for this historic election. Our polling place is only 2 blocks from our house, so we walked over at just before 6am (when the polls opened) and were greeted with a long line.
While we normally aren’t fans of waiting in line, for this we didn’t mind — it was very inspiring and gratifying to see so many people out exercising their right to vote. We even ran in to our friend Stephanie who was working the polls!
Jeff was done in about 60 minutes, and Leslie took about 90 (the line for people with A-I last names was longer). Esme fell asleep on the walk home, most of the races turned out the way we wanted, nationally and locally, and all is well…
