The Hinyard-Lash Experience: Starring Leslie, Jeff, Esme, Brynn, Han, and other members of the Hinyard-Lash family

The many expressions of Esme

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

It’s amazing how many different expressions a 3-day-old can have. In around 2 minutes, she cycles through several dozen of them. We were lucky enough to capture a good number during one of her naps this afternoon. The amazing thing is that she did not wake up during this — even though it’s clear that several times she is right on the brink — and in fact slept for a while longer after we finished filming. Not even the dogs barking could disturb her rest! So sit back, relax, and enjoy the many expressions of Esme:

Hello Esme, we agree with you, sometimes it is better to pretend you’re sleeping, just in case someone comes asking for an autograph.
    Many loves from Paris (France)

    Hey!

I’m so glad you got this video. This is one of my biggest video/photo regrets with Daniel. This stage is so precious and I missed it. I kept saying, next time he sleeps I’ll get the camera to film all the expressions… and then one day he just stopped doing them. This is definitely one you’ll treasure as she gets older 🙂

    Take care,
    Tammie

  4. Great Grandpa Lash

Well, here we are. You apparently missed our original comment – so we will give you another one. Congratulations – you both did a memorable job. It’s not usual for a 5 day old baby to look gorgous, ofcourse that’s coming from Great Grandpa and Great Grandma. When she gets to be a mature person these pictures will really put here back to the days when she is born – the important ones.
Lots of mozol and our wishes for her long, healthy and illusterious life. The pictures are great – we look forward to them as the highlight of our day. We presume that Esme and Leslie are coming home today and we will get a reaction of Esme in her home.

She is a little Jeff! Such an adorable newborn! 🙂 Congrats to you both!!

  6. Great Grandma Else

Grandma Else agrees with Grandpa Seymour. She is beautiful and I love seeing pictures of her….at least until I get to see and hug and kiss the real Esme in person.

    All my love,
    Grandma Else
